Real Estate Protip: Confederate Flag Comforter Sells Home

If you're not reading Curbed, you're missing out. On a lot. Take, for example, this Bernal Heights home (638 Banks St Unit 638-A) they came across, which is currently on the market. The decision to use this, um, decorative comforter to sell a house in San Francisco sure does pop, doesn't it?

A lot of the Bay Guardian editors live up there, don't they?

the redfin listing says: "senior occupied" - so you'll have to evict this good ol' boy if you want to live here...for some strange reason.

You have to think the tenant put the comforter there just for the photo shoot.

I don't know, not quite sure if Carol Burnett could make a fabulous dress out of those curtains...

Seriously? BFD. This freaks you out why exactly?

Because we all secretly fear that someday when we're old we will die in a room just like that.

What freaks us out? Exactly?
1. The art, including the framed Giants bar towel.
2. The plastic bin on the right OBVIOUSLY holding human body parts. Th TV is balanced on one too. Please. Like the cops won't look there.
3. You can't see 'em, but I'm guessing the stained swastica Euro shams are somewhere nearby.
4. The flourescent lightbulb against the wall. Was the office throwing it out and our occupant said, "Oh, wait. I'll take that."
5. The cutains. Who has a confederate flag comforter and lace curtains other than, say, Jame Gumb?
6. The pliers on the dresser.
And finally, why'd they make the bed?
This is the last thing someone saw on his or her horible blind date before the roofies kicked in and the nail gun pierced his or her frontal lobe.
That's what freaks us out. Exactly...

They're fixing to sell this place an' get themselves a nice little mansion back home in Alabama with a wrap-around porch where they can drink sweet tea and polish their rifle (that's not a euphemism, hunting season is coming up).

i'm so offended at the sight of dixie's flag! oh no! *fart*
