I grew up with real heat. Hot, sticky summers where 100 degree weather was to be expected for at least a few weeks.

According to Weather Underground it was in the 70s for the weekend and made it up to the 80s or so today. That's not really "hot", that's warm. That's the sort of pleasant, enjoyable summer weather that everyone else gets three or more months of while we're stuck in frigid lower 60s and dense fog blocking out the sun for weeks at a time. There's a reason why GG Park was swarmed with people enjoying the nice weather.

If you want hot weather, move to fucking Sacramento. I've fucking hated the past three days here, and I grew up in the Inland Empire of SoCal, so I know what real heat is.

If I wanted this, I'd stick my head in the oven for a week.

First off, we do have summers in SF, and they should stay in August & September where they damn well belong.

Second, it wasn't Mark Twain that said it.

And third it's not a rain fetish, it's a fog fetish. Or an anything-but-sun fetish. And he's certainly not alone in it.

Seriously Brock, we get maybe a week of nice, warm summer weather a year. You can learn to deal with it getting into the 70s for a couple days without having to bitch about it actually being pleasant outside for once.

The rain fetish is really starting to get old.

SF is a wonderful city. However, you don't have summer and haven't a clue what hot weather is. But then, we lived in the San Fernando Valley one recent summer with 90 days in a row over 90, 17 in a row over 100, and it peaked out at 117. (It is possible the heat did bake my brain.)

Now, we're moving back to the Land of Warm again, where 95 is considered getting hot.

This is a great website, SF a wondrous city, but Mark Twain was right about the summers...

It was like a bomb went off in my neighborhood – but the shrapnel was tattooed but very pale hipsters in barely there clothing.

So it wasn't all bad.
