After a successful six-month reign in San Francisco last year, Point Break Live!, the "internationally lauded absurdist stage adaptation" to the Keanu Reeves gem, came back to our fair city in March and runs every Friday night at Cellspace at 9 p.m. The format of the play is interactive, dinner theatre-style, with the lead role of Johnny Utah being hand-picked from the audience each week. If you've seen it, tell us how it was!
Point Break Live! | Cellspace, 2050 Bryant St., SF | Every Friday at 9 p.m. | 21+ | $25, Buy tickets

Sounds like fun, although $25 is a bit overpriced.
Saw it twice last year and loved it both times. Well worth the $25.
$25 is NOT overpriced for self-produced theater in the city. I'm sure they're heavily discounting it via goldstar events and other means, but a $25 top tier is totally reasonable.
God bless you, mcgordonliddy. Seriously.
I'm not affiliated with this particular show, but I've self-produced my share of theater in SF & have many friends who are currently producing in SF. They need your support, folks! Get off your couch and out of the movie theater and let real, live humans entertain you every once in a while!
Goldstar.com & http://www.brownpapertickets.com/ are excellent resources for finding half-price tickets for locally-produced SF shows. And don't forget http://www.tixbayarea.org/tix_halfprice.jsp
If $25 is not overpriced, why the need to heavily discount via goldstar and other means?
(shrugs) I dunno. To get cheapskates to go to the theater every now & then?
It's the price of a round of drinks plus tip. Jesus, people in this town will complain about the price of anything. Are you all Scottish?
No, just unemployed.
You charge the full price of $25 for the tourists and people who can afford it. And you use half-price tix and comps to paper the house to make sure it's full. It's an ancient production strategy that works. I dont mean to shill for Goldstar events but I use it as a consumer and producer and it's great if you're broke.
Generally people who can pay full price will. They understand that producing theater in San Francisco is FUCKING HARD. On the flip side, the economic reality is that $25 is steep for many, which is why there are also many discounting strategies that we use. So, if you're broke and wanna see theater, keep your eyes open, hit up discounting services, and get on yr favorites theater companies mailing list. They'll take care of you.
Remember your $$ supports Point Break Live, the producers, actors and production team, and the venue "CELLspace" all of which need and deserve your financial support.
I saw this last year. Totally worth $25. My friends and I are still talking about how much fun it was. I seriously don't know where you are going if you can find quality theater for much less. Note that the emphasis is on quality. It is a great show.
