MUSIC: Superfluously-consonanted one-man band Wavves, (AKA Nathan Williams) performs his signature brand of garage, punk, and indie pop over in Potreo Hill. While we can honestly say we've yet to hear one esoteric note of Wavves, Wavves does bring to mind SsilksS. You remember SsilksS, right? The fake plant store on Folsom? What a great name. We would pay dearly for the sign that stood in front of the store. Anyway, Vampire Hands and That Ghost open for Wavves.

He does all that by himself? Woah.
He performs with a drummer. I saw him three times at SXSW, but I'm totally going again. He's definitely fun to watch, and it sounds a little different in person (some argued it was better, some disagreed)... despite his constant efforts to get the guitars loud enough to drown out his voice, the way it is on the album, no sound guy ever did that for him. Maybe it'll sound more like the album when he's not one of 20 bands sharing a stage, I dunno.
