Fort Mason at Dawn

It's not very often we see anything at dawn. It almost makes us want to live in the Marina.

How funny, I went for a hike at Fort Mason yesterday afternoon, in the same spot where that photo was taken. :)

I was in the same area too, at dawnish. It was very lovely. I liked watching, later on, the people coming in from swimming at Aquatic Park, finishing a triathalon. It was inspiring.

Normally it is best to visit this area early in the day as the natives (generally white and highly self important) tend to become active later in the day.

Thanks for your kind words, TeamAwesome. I had some early morning errands to run and I actually got lost riding around on my bike and ended up on that hill behind fort mason. I shot these pictures on my vintage Canonet - it's an old rangefinder from the early 70's that I keep in my pocket pretty much all the time. I love the vibe of the pictures I take with it - they remind me of vacation photos from my childhood...I have a set on my flickr of some snaps I've taken with it around the city: http://www.flickr.com/photos/anthonysanfrancisco/sets/72157614167299809/
