Last couple years IIRC they either escorted some AC transit buses through the construction zone or BART had limited (1 hour interval) 24hr service. Everyone's broke this year, though.

The last time this happened, downtown was rather quiet, which was a nice rare treat for me, perhaps not for businesses though.

nope, whichever side of the bridge you're on before the closure is the one you have to stay on for the weekend. bring a sleeping bag.
