The Week Ahead: Bay Area Concerts

The Britney Spears Circus comes to the surrounding SF area this week with shows at Arco Arena on Saturday and the Shark Tank on Sunday. Some reviews of the show say that she just dances like a burnt-out C-3PO while lip syncing but gee, we're fairly sure the experience will be worth it. Like, would you really pass up the opportunity to see this living legend in the flesh (er, literally)? At the least, a Brit show will probably bring back years of warm, fuzzy Brit nostalgia. Like that Esquire photo shoot. Or K-Fed's bitchin' rap single. Or various psychotic bald-headed umbrella-wielding antics. Or that day when Brit burst onto the mainstream pop culture scene in... let's see, when was that ... 1998!? Oh god. Holy crap, we're old.

This week's picks after the jump.

I recommend Marissa Nadler on the 8th. She's got an amazing voice.
