Anjelah Johnson, Cobb's Comedy Club, 4/2-4/5
San Jose native and former Raiderette Anjelah Johnson is something of a cult phenomenon. A couple of years ago, the local cheerleader turned stand-up comedian saw her videos "go viral." Big time. Her rant about getting a manicure at Beautiful Nail (along with a $6 coat of crystal gel, which makes you sparkle like diamond in the sky) is, in a word, legendary. She took a routine as tired as Vietnamese-working-in-nail-saloon and made it seem fresh again.
Then, that same year, she made an all too brief appearance on MadTV. During that time, she wrote and performed in the show's single most popular sketch: Bon Qui Qui. Sadly, there was only one skit about the incompetent yet awesome King Burger bitch. Check it out after the jump.
While she's no longer on Fox's SNL ripoff, the good news is that she's coming back to the Bay Area to perform live. Her Cobb'as Comedy Club stint in April will prove a popular one, so grab your tickets now. Before you have to cut someone.
