Oh, Indybay.org, you know we like you. Why? Because you're so hot-headed and loopy; the flipside to zombietime, if you will. But this takes the soy-based vegan carrot cake.
Your most recent "report" on Lovelle Mixon's murder spree ("Angry Oakland Police Kill African American Man in Haste; 4 Die, One Critical") doesn't do you, or anyone else, any good.
On Saturday, March 23rd, for the second time in recent months, police in Oakland shot and killed a young African American man apparently after prematurely resorting to the use of deadly force when alternative remedies were available. This time, the haste on the part of police caused them to lose two of their own just after two other officers had just been shot, with one killed, at a separate location.
And it just gets worse.
There's looking at all sides of a situation, acting carelessly yet irresistibly flip, and being downright delusional. This is a case of the latter. Really, Indybay, this kind of faux-social justice speech gives all of us real anarchist liberal hippie nut fruitcakes a bad name.

My thoughts exactly.
What. The. Fuck.
Revolting.
This makes me sick... If you read on, it states, "It's not clear yet whether Mr. Mixon fired in self-defense, but no information suggests that he was a threat while he remained there alone." Really? Not a threat? The police reported that he shot at the officers through the closet door. That's cold blooded murder, not self defense. I would go so far as to say that its cowardly as well.
Because killing two cops during a traffic stop isn't "sufficient information." Wackos.

Articles like this and the behavior of the mob in the post-Oscar Grant East Bay are making it a scary place to live. I want to move far away.
Comments like those just make the real struggle of "young African American men" into a laughing stock. Shame.
Note to Indybay: It is not the fault of either the police or capitalism that your stock broker parents did not love you enough (although they did pay for your college education).
this article is madness but i'm also sure the police didn't show up to arrest this guy. they don't try to arrest cop-killers.
