San Francisco resident and YouTuber Jacquelineveronique has posted a number of anti-gun videos on the site, and in the wake of the tragic murders of 4 Oakland police officers yesterday, she is renewing her call to our nations leaders to destroy the 2nd Amendment.
She grabbed and posted the video below of a press conference about the shootings in Oakland, and she writes this on her YouTube channel:
This is exactly why we need to get rid of the 2nd amendment. Police officers who try to keep us save are killed by guns every single day. Fuck the NRA, fuck the Founding Father who made this possible by writing 2nd amendment, and fuck the guns...Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi, now is the fucking time to ban those fucking Guns !!!
Interestingly, she's not a gun tee-totaller: she makes exceptions in her concept of a gun ban for such groups as the Pink Pistols, an pro-gun group started to train LGBT people to protect themselves from hate crimes. But how do you ban guns and allow only liberal-friendly niche groups to have them? We doubt that would pass muster with the courts.

Fuck jacquelineveronique. That woman makes me want to puke. As if the Second Amendment was written to excuse murderous thugs. Rights are not a pick-and-choose deal, folks. Abolish the right to bear arms, and guess what? Cops would still be killed by the guns of criminals, and law-abiding citizens would be unable to defend themselves. let's try this with some other constitutional amendments:
"Only the good ones are allowed to vote" - Sounds like old racists
"Only the good ones are allowed protection from unlawful search and seizure" - sounds like the Bush administration
"Only the good ones should be allowed to publish their opinions" - Sounds like fundie book-burning Christians
The entire point of constitutional rights is to protect what the framers of the constitution thought were important rights that shouldn't be subject to the whims of popular opinion.
I'm as much of a gun-hating SF peacenik as anybody but there's absolutely no way to ban firearms that will affect "bad people" more than responsible, law-obeying gun owners. It's also not realistic since there's about as many guns in America as there are people.
What a dumbass. It's a tragedy, but truth be told, the Second Amendment does more to keep us a free people than most people realize. CA already has some of the strictest gun bans in place in the nation, yet we haven't seen any downturn in crime - why is that? Maybe it's because we need to address the underlying causes of crime first.

Looks like the usual gun-toting paid posters from the NRA are out in full force again. They post the same insensitive crap every time there is a tragedy. Jacquelineveronique's argument is incoherent only because it doesn't go far enough. Our only hope of joining the 21st century is universally to disarm the citizenry.

It is truly unfortunate that this individual [Jacquelineveronique] has no understanding of how this country was formed and WHY. Clearly, their ignorance shines through like a full moon on a clear night.
How pathetic that they want to attack one amendment, but probably doesn't even know the others, at least the Bill of Rights.
Anyone with 1/2 a brain will realize that IF guns were outlawed, the streets would be no safer - in fact, they would be far more dangerous. Repeatedly, police officers are interviewed and asked the same questions about the second amendment and repeatedly they say the same things. Usually, when a cop gets shot it is by a criminal that acquired the gun illegally - rarely is it the case where a law abiding citizen shoots a person, much less a cop, with their own gun.
This person who murdered these four officers was a hardened criminal - in and out of jail, violent and street-smart. He knew where to get guns even though he was NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE ONE. Clearly, he had guns and fully intended to use them.
I pray for safe streets every day. I pray for no more violence every day.
Most of all, I pray for the men and women who go out every day and work hard to put these thugs away.
AND, most of all, I am praying FERVENTLY for those who are suffering the loss of these four officers. My heart aches for them and I am proud of the officers for their willingness to fight these criminals every day.
Long story short, Jacquelineveronique really has no clue about America and is an embarrassment to our country. No because they don't like guns but because they don't understand America and WHY we are allowed to defend ourselves.

Sorry, Mac, but your knee-jerk is showing. For the record, I do not own a gun, nor am I a member of the NRA. I sure as hell am not getting paid by anyone right now, according to my bank account.
I'm sensitive to the families of the murdered police. I'm sensitive to the people living through this crap in East Oakland day after day. I know the area pretty well; my cousin grew up just a couple blocks uphill from Eastmont Mall, and the smartest thing he did was to sell that house.
But when it comes to pie-in-the-sky crap such as disarming law-abiding citizens, I'm terribly insensitive. (But then again, I have never suffered fools, gladly or otherwise.) When will you hand-wringing idiots get it through your head that the problem is not one of guns, but of thugs?
the presumption by most anti-nra/private citizen gun ownership supporters might be that if we made it illegal to own a gun, the cow palace type gun shows might actually stop supplying these thugs, day in an day out.
commerce is our backbone, as we all know but until we stop selling guns, we cannot hope to stop arming these monsters.
i really see no point why anyone but an active military or police officer needs to be armed. even when they are off duty, or retire, they should not be.

Repealing the 2nd amendment is always brought up by cowards that don't have a backbone. These are the first people to give up their rights if they feel a little scared.
Not allowing regular law abiding people to have weapons just because of one incident is like repealing the first amendment just because you want to shut up some racist bigot.
An argument based on incidents doesn't really carry much weight. After the Bart station shooting, shouldn't we be obliged to have weapons? The people must be allowed to protect themselves against crime and corruption. Or... do you suggest that we ban cops from having guns too?
Very few people misuse guns, but America has many more responsible owners. Grow up and stop living in fear and asking everyone else to do the same.
The ten-day waiting period following handgun purchase applies to "cow palace type gun shows" as well as brick-and-mortar retailers. The parolee Mixon undoubtedly obtained his weapons from an illegal source - one which I hope is being investigated at this time!

First, Jacquelineveronique needs to understand REALITY. In EVERY instance where Americans were allowed to carry concealed weapons, CRIME WENT DOWN, DRASTICALLY.
Why? In contrast to what gun control advocates state, "Why don't you just give everyone a gun, like a wild west town!??" The fact is, you don't have to 'arm everyone'. The reason crime goes down drastically, is NOT because you arm everyone,.. It's because the criminals don't know WHO is carrying a gun. It's the 'X' factor that frightens criminals from mugging just anyone. They never know if that young secretary, or older business woman, might be carrying, and might be a deadly shot.
Never-mind, with the (hopefully) coming effort to prevent a takeover, Americans will need our guns to prevent loosing the country to the bankers controlling everything, who want to end U.S. sovereignty, and usher in the New World Order. Why do you think we've witnessed the 'militarization' of the police over the past three decades. Why do you think we've gone from two S.W.A.T. teams (N.Y & L.A.), to over 1200 S.W.A.T. teams across America. If you don't believe the NWO is coming. You're an IGNORANT FOOL.
