A little before 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, a T-Third line collided with a truck, sending "at least a dozen" passengers to the hospital. Word has it "a southbound 18-wheeler at 3rd Street and 22nd Street" rammed into the Muni train. Buses will provide substitute service until the mess is cleaned up. Except delays during your commute home, Muni public transit riders.

It's another speeding while fatigued, using cell phone, and shotty brakes incident!
Ahem, I meant in Muni union and PR terms, an unfortunate incident involving a vehicle.
You can't legally make a left turn from 3rd on to 22nd, like the 18 wheeler was attempting to do.
Look at those pictures -- the trucker had barely even started to turn.
He wasn't just ignoring the No Left Turn sign -- he was ignoring the Muni train he cut right in front of!
Awesome. Guess it's the 19 to the 22 for me.
I hope everyone gets better.
And I hope the truck driver gets fired.
They cleared this one fast. Got down there at 4:30; caught a northbound T back downtown at 5 p.m.
That's right in front of my building. I didnt see the crash, but I saw the aftermath. And like nutty says, that intersection is CLEARLY marked NO LEFT TURNS for that exact reason.
Dumbass trucker...

Based on the damage in the photos -- I doubt the injuries are "real". Ouch my back! Eeeek, I can never work again! Muni owes me 750,000 passenger fares, aka 1.125mm!
Goodby Muni -- I loved you and hated you!
I realize some people feel a need to compulsively blame MUNI for everything, but this was a pretty big FAIL by the truck driver. There's a reason for a no left turn sign there, and it's not just an attempt by The Man to step on unicorns and rainbows and make people sad.
If anyone should be paying anything...it's the trucking company. I mean, what was he thinking?
