meh. whatever. the san francisco skyline was destroyed when they built that dumb supertall condo tower. where were the activists then? that thing totally fucked the skyline. before, it was like "hey look at the sf skyline and all the tall buildings" now with that stupid condo tower, there's a point of reference that makes you say "wow, look how dinky sf's downtown is."

I have to say when I saw the trailer I cracked up a little and thought to myself "wow the preservationists in the 24th century must have lost the war once and for all." I mean, SF is all Dubai-like in the future (and has mass transit!) However, there's a simple answer to this (and why Starfleet Command decimates the Marin Headlands for their HQ AND Starfleet Academy): World War 3 In every iteration of Star Trek, earth had a World War 3 that included significant nuclear detonations.
