This is silly. I'm surprised at all the hostility even if he were flicking the cameraman off. You can tell he's doing this with good humor. No one's wanted to plant a little easter egg in a tourist's family portrait?

If he really wanted to be a jerk he would have held his hand up prominently and displayed his statement with vigor. This subtle display is merely an example of a good practical joke. Nothing more.

Btw, it's "flicking". "Flipping" sounds stupid.

Don't you mean Flippr photo extraordinaire? Heh. That's cool that it might be regional.

And by that, I meant "Flickr photo extraordinaire." (Apparently, am not a speller extraordinaire...)

Really, it's to each his or her own on what people are seeing here, although it amuses me that it's up for debate.

And I use flipping off and flicking off interchangeably...and have for my entire life. I'm not from the Midwest, but have lived there, and the East Coast, and overseas...so who knows where I picked it up.

Brock, thanks for the shout-out! Any day that I get called a "Flickr photog extraodinaire" is a good day. ;-)

Yeah, no controversy here, just a bag adjustment. It'd be funnier if he were flipping her off though.

Agreed -- he's just adjusting or grabbing the flap on the bag.

I'm big on privacy, but if you don't like being casually photographed when you're out in public, telecommute or wear a burqa. If you think someone's paying too much attention to you, guess what, they're probably not.

Granted, this rule is null and void if you're a hot person of any gender. In that case, maybe one might be enough. Upskirt/package shots, on the other hand, call for public humiliation, and if you have time, involving an officer.

Married dude is way too full of himself. Unless he was afraid that the shot was going to catch him at a time when he was supposed to be somewhere else. Camera and public and I don't want to be photographed? Turn away, it's not at all difficult.

Plus, I say "flicking off" once in a while; is it a Midwest thing?

1. That's not flipping the photographer off. That's adjusting the bag.
2. Who says "flicking" off?

Nah, his other hand is on the strap and he's pinching the flap -- he's trying to close his bag, maybe even has something in his hand. I know what getting flipped off looks like, and this is not it!

This looks shopped. You can't even see the guys head or legs on the left side, and he's totally floating over the bart tracks! And if you look close, I'm pretty sure it's just a clone of the guy on the right. I can tell, I've seen quite a few shops in my time.
