I think that's the point deb...wouldn't want their name tarnished for reporting bad info. Like the "sewage spill of up to 100 Million gallons/day reported from Pt. Isabel" from a few days ago? Might have been a tad off. Hell, I would like to contribute to it actually. I live semi near by the drive by area, along with constant accidents and all that.

Is it just me, or does this article look like a really bad photoshop job? Also, 35 people at the Salvation Army? I can't go there anymore, it's sounds like it's popular, and not so underground. Although it sounds like there is *crime* there, I can tell my friends I hang out where there is *crime* and *sketchiness*. But now everyone knows about it, it's just like the mall! And I don't pay 850 a month and live with 2 roommates to just hang out at the mall all day. Oh, it's such a hard day at work--do I use Helvetica, or Archer?

I actually asked a police officer what I should have done. The basic response was - "Run!" BART police tell you to "calmly move to the next car." The safest idea being - you never really know, if you decide to confront someone, whether they are packing more heat than a can of Axe. It also smelled like Axe, and the Axe labeling was clearly visible. If it has been labeled insecticide or coming of of a scuba tank (like the Om Shin Rikyo sarin attack) I think different action might have been taken. I've been on trains two or three times when someone gets on and starts yelling yelling obscenities at everyone. Once a couple of the larger guys around started to give each other "let's rock" kind of looks, but the yeller always left the train before anyone lost patience.

In typical BART fashion, everyone just sat there as the guy made his way to the next car. This is a widely studied aspect of human psychology, basically people are less likely to do anything if there is a group than if they are there alone. If you get lucky (or a large enough group) there will be an outlier, probably is a bit of a social misfit, that will step out of line and say something.

I was on BART once when some batshit homeless guy walked down the aisle yelling and spraying everyone with Axe body spray. In typical BART fashion, everyone just sat there as the guy made his way to the next car. So it probably doesn't take too many drinks/meth crack to confuse that stuff with a can of mace or pepper spray, which you can buy OTC at any hardware store.
