Very true. I can't imagine how it's been "underground" really. Didn't SFist start talking about it the week or so that it started up? Not exactly a small-time, word-of-mouth thing then. I haven't actually had a chance to head out because, well, I never happen to be anywhere remotely near the Mission on a Thursday night. A shame that it's seemingly become (or quickly on its way to becoming) overly crowded to the point that it's unlikely to remain tenable or worth the effort in the future.

I haven't been in three weeks but was there every single week since week 2 in the roach coach trailer. Love the food and the concept. Especially love the price. Gastronomicdiva and I could get just about one of every item offered and still leave only spending $42 bucks. I'm talking like 6 dishes here. We never did have to wait in line, just made a point of showing up at 5:45. We did see lines after we were sat. The service was(is) hit and miss but always friendly. The food every time but once was a total hit. The experience is awesome considering you are squatting in an old Chinese place eating gourmet food with random dishes/paper plates and utensils. The irony would make a hipster cum and the food is a cheap foodie's dream. Recently the recession and the lack of desire for a mad dash to early dinner has stopped our weekly visits. Don't care where it was written up or how many people go. I'm happy to see local business people succeed.

it was two-fer, since 7x7 just wrote about MSF as well. Though to be fair, does anyone (besides me) really read that magazine? They should its way better than SF magazine.

Half the commenters on sfgate.com need to pull the stick out and get on with life. ------------ I don't want to turn into one of those people but... Yeah, it's great MSF has expanded to a second night. Yes, it's awesome to see profits being donated to charity. But goddamnit Chron, you couldn't have left it alone?! The food is great and I liked bringing friends to some dodgy looking front and leaving thoroughly pleased. You've now stolen that from me. Thanks.
