UPDATE: Friend of SFist cowsaysmeow kindly directs us to this yelp thread, in which some folks were denied their sandwich. We've reached out to Quiznos to get the scoop, more if and when we hear back.
Yeah, this SFist is all about Ike's Vegan Backstabber, but we're even more about saving money. That's why we're setting up an el fakeo yahoo account to use just long enough to get a free Quizno's sandwich. Just "register" here and keep that spurious inbox open just long enough to get an email you print out (like a caveman!) and bring to a Quizno's near you.
Our unsolicited advice: get as much free shit out of Quiznos as you can, and save your dough to spend at your fave local joints (we're loyal to Ike's, but always looking for recommendations, commenters!). It's a win for everyone. (Thanks, Consumerist!)
Yeah, we know this isn't their current ad campaign, but we always liked those rodents.

I think of Quizno's sort of like binge drinking. It feels so good at the time and you feel like shit a few hours later.
Ikes is good if you like cockroaches on the side, they are so dirty, and check some of their food inspections out, i cant believe they let the $hitholes open, they make me want to throw up
That's quite an assertion, jim. I did check their score, they have a 92 out of 100 (no insect violations), which is pretty decent. Why don't you tell us the real reason you dislike Ike's?
I've been hearing from mildly reliable sources that not all Quiznos are honoring the coupon (at least in SF), so you might want check with your local store before you get there...
That is exactly the kind of scandal we'd love to report on. Send your sources our way, cowsaysmeow! eyleen.tavy@gmail.com.
nice try eyleen,
thanks for your due diligence on the research, but the 92 out of 100 is not the state inspection (its just a private money maker called Clean Scores) look a little further with the state and you will not eat at ike's anymore
Thanks for your compliment on my "try," Jim. But California restaurant health codes are enforced and inspections are performed by county, not state, authorities, therefore, there is no "further" I can go "with the state" (source).
Cleanscores is a San Francisco DPH advocated site (source) that breaks down these county inspectors' scores (source). So, you're right, it's not the state inspection, because there's no such thing. But as a searchable database of county inspectors' scores (source), it seems like an acceptable source to address your claims.
If you have some real information on Ike's, we want to hear it. But if you're just here to make baseless accusations, couldn't you choose a more interesting topic than a local sandwich joint?
yeah, I did exactly what you mentioned and joined their customer club (or whatever they call it) online and I got a "thank you!" coupon for a free sandwich. The chick at the store didn't know what the hell it was but she did end up giving me a discount. Honestly, I think she was new and felt pushed by me to give me what the coupon said.
Two weeks later I got a Birthday coupon from Quiznos via e-mail. I brought it to the shop and the manager said "We don't accept these" so I left. I guess these SF locations do not participate!
wow...quiznos seems to have REALLY terrible policies. Boycott?
Also @eyleen--ZING!
The Bush and Battery Street Quizno's denied the freebie coupon my colleague obtained ... and even denied my Quizno's "buy one, get one free" coupon I clipped from the Sunday paper - offering $2 off a second sub instead. What the ?!??! The audacity of Quizno's! :)
Neither the one on the 400 block of Geary or the one on the unit block of 3rd street would take my free sub coupon, though the latter did offer $2 off. I wonder if the loss of goodwill actually exceeds whatever they would lose on the promotion.
