From what we hear, Valentine's Day was heartbreaking for many Bay Area restaurants. Take, for example, Hyde Street Seafood House, who charged $70 for a three-course prix-fixe, but resorted to serving Nabisco Triscuits with their lox. Wow. Yeah. Ouch. (Although we must admit that HSSH is a damn fine place to sup on seafood, and we would be tickled to find a plate of oysters resting on a bed of Xplosive Pizza Flavor Blasted Goldfish at our table.) Paolo Lucchesi has more on it over at Eater.

But were they rye triscuits?
They do have a great happy hour though! $2 pints, and 12 oysters for $12.
LOL WUT?
And you wonder why people aren't bothering to go to restaurants lately. When you pay $70, one would expect to get something other than cheap crackers they can grab at the grocery store.
I'm pretty sure the Nabisco corporation would remind you that "Triscuits" is incorrect, and the word "Triscuit" is both singular and plural. No, seriously.
It's just another link in the chain of disrespect.
I ate at Janitizi http://www.yelp.com/biz/janitzi-san-francisco#hrid:3N3Pyxq5dbUAToEvg6OSwA/src:search/query:janitizi in December and they served Saltines with their (pretty good) ceviche.
they closed the next day. Sad. The food was good, but they seemed unprepared in everyway to be open for business.
