Myron Edward was shot and killed at 3pm yesterday at the intersection of Eddy and Laguna in the Western Addition. Edward was transferred to a local hospital where he later died. As of Sunday morning, no protests against crime in the neighborhood have been scheduled, and no arrests have been made. Update I: As mentioned in the comments, "San Francisco police witnessed Edward getting shot." And yet? No suspects were arrested. Update II: Er, scratch that. Police heard the shots, they did not witness said shooting. Or so says Sergeant Lyn Tomioka.

This is certainly no surprise. The gang at this new, mixed-income $43 million HUD HOPE VI housing development has been going around shooting people at the other new, mixed-income $42 million HOPE VI housing developments for some time. I'm not sure if they have new, mixed-income members; it looks like they're the same ones as before.
Let us know if the murderer was a cop. Then the professional protesters...uh, mmm, "activists" will surely take to the streets. Otherwise, if its just regular folk killing each other, then trying to enforce the law would be just a "war against the poor," or "criminalizing the poor," from what I've been led to believe.
Yes, let us know if the perpetrator was someone in a position of power who was videotaped in the act, and yet was allowed to go free. Then the crazy protesters will be up in arms for no good reason.
Magdelyn: Feel retarded yet?
Of course, jadedness would prevent you from acknowledging that while usually illegal, some people are killed for perfectly good reasons. This is a crucial distinction when ridiculing activism. Not every comparison can be chalked up as camp.
The Chron reported he was 40 yo. That seems a bit old for the regular dope deal murder. I suspect there's more to this story. Regardless, the brazeness of the killing in daylight, where there were very likely witnesses, is scary. Also, aren't there city cameras down the block on the corner? Hopefully they saw something (even if they just shoot one frame/ 6 seconds).
The Merc is reporting that police WITNESSED the shooting. Of course there were no arrests. Why would there be arrests?
That is fucking gold. They couldn't split up?
The CBS 5 report says the police heard the shot. "Witnessing" doesn't necessarily mean "seeing."
My Dashboard widget says:
Witness: A person who sees an event, typically a crime or accident, take place.
The Random House Dictionary says: "(verb) 1. to see, hear, or know by personal presence and perception: to witness an accident....
(noun) 6. an individual who, being present, personally sees or perceives a thing; a beholder, spectator, or eyewitness."
Well Urban Dictionary says
Witness:
To check out, or look at members of the opposite sex; part of the teenage mating ritual; to look and lust over another human
So there.
Maybe the cops in question decided to Stop Snitching?
Left-leaning nerds fail to grasp television? Has someone told Rachel Maddow about this?
I risked my life by walking past eddy and fillmore yesterday and saw a man snorting a bunch of coke on the corner just before this happend... I wonder if that was him?
At least they didnt try to say he shot himself, hide the gun and then died.
