Actually, there are tons of altruism acts occurring hourly, every day in this fine city--it is what makes this place tick. However, the sale of this t-shirt likely isn't one of them.

Brock, the other article you posted I think had a link to the guy's website saying the proceeds were going to his family. So that's cool. Although it's great and well intentioned gesture, he could just as easily be sending the money to Darfur, limbless children in the Congo or whatever other sob story du jour. I seriously doubt there is really any intention to focus on helping the family in any measurable way. Rather it's to get people off his back while driving people to his site to sell this shirt. And the question is, does the family really want the proceeds from the sale of this shirt? I'm confident the answer is no.
