I'm guessing this is a result of the shenanigans they got up to a few years ago, hiding assets so they wouldn't have to pay off the victims of the pederast priests they sheltered. If they're not trying to hide assets, transferring property between three separate nonprofits (all controlled by the same Vatican hierarchy) doesn't make much sense.

Cry me a river .... millions of dollars spent without hesitation to take away marriage rights for LGBT Californians, but God forbid they buck up and pay the transfer tax that it would seem every other non-profit and so on would pay to change which corporate entity, I mean church, owns a piece of property. What a bunch of assholes.
