BART Cop Protest Planned for Tonight

Basic_Plain_White_T_Shirt.jpg

Although BART cop Johannes Mehserle was arrested yesterday, another protest is planned today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in front of Oakland City Hall (Frank Ogawa Plaza). But wait, there's more! Some Facebook group exploiting the name of Oscar Grant -- hilariously billing themselves Coalition Against Police Execution (CAPE), because, other than a few nutty right-wingers, just who is FOR police execution? -- is asking you to bring a white t-shirt to the rally so they can help you create your own Oscar Grant T-shirt. It seems they also need money and food. Because at its core, tonight's protest is a party. You can go here for more details.

Making my t-shirt right now... How many bullets in the back again?

"...because, other than a few nutty right-wingers, just who is FOR police execution?"

of course nobody is FOR it, but it still happens. just as nobody is FOR drunk driving, but it's still common.

i'm hoping that's a joke, but assuming it's not, since it is not at all unusual for bay area "activists" to use any excuse imaginable -- even the most obtuse, bizarre, or downright nasty excuse -- to link israel and "the jews" with all that ails the world.

gross. ugly. ignorant. oh, and stupid.

At what point do we call these "protests" what they really are? - 21st Century Lynch Mobs.

This whole thing is turning into a farce straight out of Bonfire of the Vanities.

If his family was really shrewd, they'd trademark his name so they could make a few bucks off the licensing.

Where is the protest to Free Johannes Meserle?
