You see the reason I do both in my statement is that my district is pretty diverse.I live in district 3(thanks ONLY to rent control). I agree maybe my criticism of Sean might be a bit over the top. He is conservative if the measurement is the board itself, i agree with you if the we compared him to the country or the state at large he is not a conservative. An arguement can also be made about the voting of his district as well. His district is an outlier in voting records and if you read, study or know about politics here its conservative for SF. But I would say he is a Moderate-Democrat in general politics terms (see how he had to beg to get the support of the local DNC for reelection).
Some reasons i dont like him:
1.His support for DPT to insert metered parking on Junipero Serra. Which would have directly negatively affected SFSU students. It would have caused great finacial burdon if a petition wasnt written by students in 2006. Instead 2 hour parking is now enforced, students can deal with that.
2. His appointment by Gavin came after tony hall left (asked to leave because of suspected misconduct.) and yet his aides still tend to send him a check. See Olivia Scanlon, she worked for sean.

What i do like about him is he is a standup guy and is good with finance. I mean who else would be good for that district? At leas Sean rebuilt that pool on 19th finally, some investment into our parks.

But should you start making the t-shirts about ross since he is really going to run for mayor now after the board news today. Ross is the Boss... I dont even live in that district and i like the guy.

Sorry to bust you, Burrito, but you really don't know anything about Elsbernd, do you? I'm not his biggest fan, but come on, you know "ultra conservative" is bs and you probably also know how ridiculous "the complexities of urban neighborhoods and the diversity they require" sounds, right? And I hate (actually love) to point out that, in one sentence, you promote "diversity", but then in another, slam a neighborhood because it's different that yours. Oh, well, all in good fun.

I assume most people don’t go to the BOS meetings or watches them on public access? If you have you would see that Ross not only is the obvious choice but is one of the few people on the board that has insightful and intelligent discussion. He is slightly more conservative compared to the Avalos/Daly contingent but at least gives those policies a fair shake. Maxwell, well if you have ever seen her head a committee and see the discourse between the public, the experts and the proponents everything needs to be explained like the annoying person that asked too many stupid, obvious questions when you were in high school (Land use development). Sean Elsberd is a bit of a slim. He is ultra conservative and thinks like his district. He doesn’t understand the complexities of urban neighborhoods and the diversity they require. He happens to live in one of the least populated sectors of the city with one of the most space. His area is more reminiscent of a suburb than of a metropolis. He lacks experience in locating, maintaining large scale development, understanding land use planning and transportation priorities. Dufty, wouldn’t be a bad person he is a coalition based leader. His polices are not progressive but they aren’t oppressive either. He is a good person with a commitment to listening to the public, understanding public input and works hard to make sure that it has a place in public policy.

Ross has done a great job and is very popular in his district - I see no reason why he wouldn't be a great BoS pres.

I want a BOS President who can balance their checkbook ... Carmen Chu or Sean Elsbernd are pretty much it, as far as I can tell. The rest are still clueless about fiscal responsibility ... CLUELESS

If Ross wants to run for Mayor, which should be a "shoe-in", I would have to agree with Sup. Daly and have John Avalos be our next Board President.

Hey, we already had Peskin........how much worse can Ross do????

Aw come on. You CANNOT do the graffit-esque facial hair (soul patch, thingy) without doing the evil eyebrows, too. It just isn't right to have one without the other.
