I walk past this corner every day when I go to work. The one time I call in sick... Anyhow, the picketers (who are there every day, usually sans Fat Cat) are from a construction union, and are, apparently, picketing the Starbuck's renovation contractor for hiring non-union.

I think it's a hotel porters' protest. Anyway, at work today we got a fax advertising a "No Bailout" protest on the 12th that had a drawing of that Fat Cat stabbing that Joe Worker with the Transamerica Pyramid. A little over the top.
