Former eBay CEO Meg Whitman Set To Make Foolish Run For CA Governor

meg whitman ebay.jpg

Noted Republican, Silicon Valley resident, and gay-marriage hater Meg Whitman is all set to take over Sacramento, at least according to an AP article. "The person was not authorized to talk publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity," the article boasts, going on to say, "He [the secret source] said the 52-year-old Republican hopes to succeed Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2011 but is not ready to make a formal announcement." So, we guess, she's officially throwing her can of Aqua Net in the ring.

In addition to serving as a national co-chair of John McCain's disastrous presidential bid, Whitman just stepped down from the boards of eBay, Procter & Gamble Co. and DreamWorks SKG last week. She is also a monstrous homophobe who should not -- and will not -- run the state of California. (In her defense, she does look like an aging Real Housewife of Orange County, so, you know, she has that going for her.)

Hello Sfist, thanks for not showing any ridiculous political bias based on a complete lack of knowledge of this candidate. Very much appreciated!

considering you hate faggots, missiondweller, i'm going to go ahead and over sarcastically thank you as well for the biased comment.

but thanks for trying.

"I told California thanks, but no thanks, for equality. So I sold it on eBay."

Ok you two, get a room. Or not as the case may be. One can have the room, the other can have the closet.

Does this mean that our choices in 2012 are Meg Whitman or Gavin Newsom?

Talk about being fucked before you even step up to a voting booth.

I'm somewhat nauseous about these prospects.

i don't think she's a dead bang loser as this posting suggests. i'm always pessimistic about these things though. i was pessimistic about prop 8 - this time i'll actually DO something instead of being pessimistic!

She looks like a real aging housewife of Tracy, not OC. Maybe as far as Fresno. OC has a high milf ratio.

Only a boy who likes boys could peg Meg for a Real Housewife of Orange County.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Being a bigoted, ignorant, Republican fame-whore makes her a spot-on "Real Housewife of Orange County".

Uh, no. An implicit criterion of RHoOC cast-members is that they were, at one point, hot.

Watching those soulless cougars cling to whatever is left of their sex appeal is one of the attractions of the show.

Again, this component is a rather obvious cautionary tale to heterosexual men. It's what happens when trophy wife is past her sell-by date. (There's not even a bizzaro universe in where Meg Whitman is a trophy wife.)

Meg could be a very good recipient of Stop 8 anger. She's prominent and seems nice, but is clearly the kind of anti-gay bigot we do NOT want running our state - and she probably herself doesn't understand what her hate is doing to people.

She should be protested, EVERY TIME, by nice, telegenic, friendly gay couples whose heart she, personally, has broken. Let's see how she feels about that.

How could she be a supporter of Yes on 8 - she looks like the prototypical PE teaching, man-shirt wearing lesbian.

The criteria for being a monstrous homophobe must be pretty low if supporting pro-8 is all that it takes. It is unfortunate that those who opposed prop 8 don't bother to listen to the other side (or just focus on the most extreme elements); obviously it is easier to call people names ("anti-gay bigot") or bash on their religion (see anti-Mormon protests), than to actually understand someone could not be a bigot but also support Prop 8. Prop 8 opponents complain a lot about "hate" but they certainly spew a lot of it themselves.

Yep, those are in fact the criteria. Oppose equal rights? You are a homophobe.

HTH, HAND.

@SFBurke: opposing gay marriage, but "being OK with the gays as long as they leave me and my family alone" is sugar-coated bigotry.
