(Starbucks & Taco Bell could call the new venture 'Lady Marmalade's') Why is the Board of Supervisors not on this list?? All together now: Because they're not a business! I take back my comment on the last post about positive thinking and not wishing for institutions to fails.... FUCK CAFE GRATITUDE! I hate it with every fiber of my being. My hippie brother loves the place so much, he worked there while going to boalt. And one of my crazy hippie roommates worked there too. I'm surrounded by batshit hippies and I fully believe that Cafe Gratitude was the straw that drove them both other the edge into full blown crazy hippies. It's not just food, it's a god damn manifesto in every bite. Even the servers push it on you with the thought provoking question of the day. Are you servers or are you life coaches? Fuck off and take my order. In case it wasn't obvious, I hate cafe gratitude. And yes, Scientology is based in Florida and LA. Trust me, I spent five years in LA. Every block in Hollywood has at least one building own by the CoS. Their winter wonderland Santa display on Hollywood blvd is the creepiest.

Apparently the winner of the actual Dead Pool is TGI Friday's. First they lost the SoMa location, then they couldn't even hold onto the Fisherman's Wharf location where they could snag suburban tourists. But to lose San Bruno, San Mateo, and Cupertino fer chrissakes! Now we KNOW it's a recession when Concept Restaurants in the South Bay are closing down. What next, Applebees?
