Jennifer Siebel Sports Very Expensive Diamond

Some sort of world famous diamond made a pit stop in San Francisco this week. It's called the the Chrysanthemum Diamond, and SF First Lady and sometime actress Jennifer Siebel got to wear the thing last night at a holiday party hosted by jewelry company S.H. Silver. The jewel, found in South Africa in 1963, has 189 facets and is of the biggest brown diamonds ever discovered. So it looks like gigantic, shiny, brown turd all dolled up. How fitting.

hey now, she's starting to grow on me, like a tumor. a very benign bumble bee-shaped tumor.

i'm just yanking her pigtails. that's all.

but she's no vanessa getty. who is?

Siebelsnark: SFist's raison d'être.

How many african children had to die for this lump of carbon to get from the ground to her neck?

Someone had a big ol' bowl of snark for breakfast. :-)

How come when Michael Rapaport gave Martha Plimpton a brown diamond in Beautiful Girls she refused it?

Well, Gav's no Billy Getty.

Isn't that what people like Ms. Siebel are for? To be someone who wears things like that? I mean, even the diamond market needs advertising once in a while and people like her are billboards for a class and a way of life. Just sayin'.

I hope she wore a red dress to symbolically represent the blood of all the African children who gave up their lives so that diamond could make it out of the mine onto that skag's scrawny looking chicken neck. The wealthy in this town are taste free. They should all be be rounded up and locked in a closet for six months by a variety of Maoist guerrilla groups.

This is more like a bile diamond rather than a blood diamond.

South Africa, 1963...nice. What a beautiful symbol of an unjust government and a shameful time.

Didn't anyone see Beautiful Girls? It's not brown, it's champagne.

I thought she loved poor, black babies and would do anything to help them?! I guess not.

And, Beautiful Girls is awesome!
