Color scheme I don't mind. My vote would be to make them of sturdier stock. If you've never got one wet before, lemme tell you it renders the thing almost completely useless.
muni's design is a bit simple compared to other transit systems. i remember when translink first debuted (1998?). i was just out of high school. the card was supposed to change the way we think of fare payment. paper passes should have been long gone by now.
i hear the trials aren't goin' so well. so more fast pass art to come. yay!
Glad to know I'm not the only one either who saves these. I've got all since I moved here in early 2005 -- except for August 2007 when my wallet was stolen.
Translink is here and works just fine on Muni. You can even put your fast pass on it. Just go down to one of the locations selling them (a bunch of the Wallgreens downtown among others, check translink's site) and then take it to a machine in a station and buy the Fast Pass feature.
It works now, and the cash fare has been working for many moons before that.
Of course, if you're getting a fast pass, you really should still go with the paper one since you won't get any BART rides out of the Translink one.
Yes, Muni managed to one-up BART on something for a change.
They sure had some fug color schemes this year.
huh. and i thought i was the only person who collected these.
I already lost my December one. Drats.
Does this officially count as a slow news day now?
If anyone has a Feb 06 lying around it's the only hole in my fastpass collage...
This sure does aid my casual study of urban wayfinding, social design processes and their influence on visual culture.
You could have a gambling pool where you guess the colors of next month's.
no news is GOOD news
This makes my own idea for a muni transfer collage practically irrelevant.

I'll see your one year and raise you seven years

This is now my desktop background. Thank you.
@Ciaran -
I'll check when I get home. I chuck them into a drawer every month. I probably have it, for realz.
I'll accept one (1) cocktail of my choosing in exchange.

And it did. Translink is a form of fare payment that does not exist, which is a new thing.
ooh...I want to do a collage too. Any one have some from June of 06 to Dec 06?
I'll give you some wine (good stuff).
@oskarv, I was just thinking the same thing. I have seven on my corkboard.
i flashed the july 08 and the muni police were none the wiser =D
@angrybat deal. I also have a hole for Nov 05, but since I never bought a pass that month I consider it a legit hole.
Sold my 2007 collection to some NYC folks for $25.
stop talking about holes.
@ Ciaran -
Yep, I've got it. Email me (asatrex_AT_yahoo) if you want it.
@kimbobo -
What kind of wine? I've got 'em.
I knew there was a reason to save these.

that's NOT one upping bart. that's dumb balkanization of transit.
MTA/Metro in LA manages to figure out how to put its regional pass on a TAP card (similar to Translink).
It's the same reason I tossed my translink in '98. I used BART to commute to the Mission.
