San Francisco firefighters, according to SFGate, are rescuing residents from the windows of a Nob Hill burning apartment building. The complex is on Bush Street between Jones and Taylor streets. (Ack, we love that block of Bush!) No word yet on any injuries or what started the inferno. Update: One person was killed, three others injured.

Donald Sutherland started the inferno.
Third big apartment fire on my old block in the last 10 years or so. The other two fires were in the building on the corner of Bush & Taylor (same side of the street as 947 Bush), a couple months apart (likely an insurance job?).
(likely its cold and someone left on the heater job?) :)
This better not affect Bacchus Kirk.
its right next door to Bacchus Kirk. Looks like its all under control now. and looks like the bar wasn't affected. hopefully no one was hurt
Aw man. That's a block away from me. I know that building manager, too.
I've evacuated my 40-unit building twice this year when it was filled with smoke. If you ever smell smoke, call 911 and get everyone out immediately (without freaking people out).
Start on the top floor if you can, knock loudly on every door, and give a calm but firm directive: "The building is full of smoke. Put your shoes on, get your keys, take your pet/child and go outside right now." Almost without exception, people obey the order.
