After yesterday's rare appearance before the Board of Supervisors, Mayor Gavin Newsom announced his team's $118 million in proposed "mid-year solutions." Part of said solution will be to eliminate 400 city jobs. While workers will be notified on Friday, they will still be employed by through February 2009. (Hopefully, this will be the start of a budding relationship between the mayor and the Board of Supervisors. Chortle.)

Hopefully Wells Fargo paid for all the SFPDers used about 10:00 a.m. to close off Montgomery Street so a stagecoach could pull up to the bank on Montgomery at California! If Wells Fargo did not pay, send them an invoice immediately.
I told the BOS at the January 8, 2007 meeting they had better cut up the credit cards ... that wasn't the time to allocate more money on stuff. Too bad there's only 2-3 folks on the Board of Supervisors who can balance their checkbook, so-to-speak.
bleed, baby, bleed.
