At around 8:55 a.m. this morning, an earthquake measuring 3.4 struck the Milpitas area, followed by a 3.0 quake at 8:38 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Did you feel? We did not. But we practically live on the bridge, so our world is always shaking. Anyway, there have been no reports of any injuries.

3.4 is weak sauce
The USGS link says 2.5?
Calculating the magnitude of an earthquake is a relatively complex process. The number gets revised several times shortly after the earthquake as more data comes in from remote stations and as the existing data gets reviewed and revised.
This is BIG NEWS---according to the article, the quakes caused us to 'Go back in Time'
Read it again---Duh?
Hah. Correct links and times:
Magnitude 3.5 - 16:25:46 UTC (8:25) http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Quakes/nc51212644.php
Magnitude 3.0 - 16:38:50 UTC (8:38) http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Quakes/nc51212648.php
I didn't notice it in Santa Clara, but to be fair, I don't even remember what I was doing this early in the morning.
We didn't feel anything, but we were rockin' and rollin' down Haight Street on the bus.
A 3.4? Dude, that's like a truck driving by your house. BFD.
