Say what, ready by x-mas? All of the recipes I've ever used for eggnog are usable right away.

what a coincidence that i am sipping some store-bought organic eggnog with cheap-ass vsop brandy from trader joe's as i came across this nog related article! last year "start the eggnog NOW" was printed too late for me to get it together (i think it came out on the friday of TG weekend, not enough time to buy the tremendous amounts of likker, get people to come, & so on). that article should be dredged up a week BEFORE TG weekend, so it's fresh in noggers' minds. i SAVED that article and made my own eggnog with some chums this past sunday, as we ate delicious snacks and made merry with some home-infused cranberry/vanilla/nutmeg spiced rum that i originally got from belize. holy crap it's good. it's my first time, so i followed the recipe exactly, but i can think of some variations i may try next time, if i don't love this recipe 100%. it's supposed to be ready by x-mas...yum. ~~~gogo

House egg-nog? Putting 151 on store bought crap doesn't make it a recipe, and don't tell me the Cap'n is the extended pinky of this operation.
