KOFY News: New Host Needed, Dance Party Marathon

KOFY's return has warmed our glacial heart. So much so, in fact, that we're pressed to tell you about all the exciting things going on over at TV 20.

First, KOFY is looking for a new host. For what? Who knows. But now's your chance to be the Liam Mayclem or Malou Nubla of San Francisco's newest (and, let's face it, favorite) station.

All you have to do is show up to a casting call at the Saddle Rack in Fremont on December 17, show them your stuff, and tell them why you should be the new face of KOFY. And then stay for some line-dancing while listening to special guest star - hold onto your bladder, folks -- Lisa Lisa.

Did your head just explode? Ours did.

And if that isn't enough, KOFY will be having a Dance Party marathon on New Year's Day, featuring classic James Gabbert-hosted revelry. No, we're not kidding. Bake a batch of brownies, invite some pals over, and put on your hoop skirt. Because this is what you should be doing on the first day of 2009.

Update: The Dance Party marathon is, in fact, this week on Thanksgiving from noon to 8 p.m.

Malou Nubla makes me want to gouge my own eyes out with a rusty spoon. I hope something very heavy falls on her.

I had totally forgotten about the old KOFY dance parties! And they brought the dogs back! It's a totally frivolous childhood memory returned.

This just in: According to my tv, KOFY is airing a Dance Party marathon on THANKSGIVING from noon until 8pm.

I love me some Malou.

The way he shepherded Mowgli through the hard world of the jungle? And that voice!

"oh. oooh be doo. i wanna be like you. i wanna walk like you, talk like you, too. you'll see it's true... an ape like me, can learn to be human too..."
