SFist: Task Force Claims Record Year in Destroying Pot Plants

I believe the issue for CAMP is that large illegal and stealth pot farms are being planted by Mexican drug cartels in OUR nation's National Forests especially here in California. There's a great New York Times story about this. The thugs that guard the farms carry lots of weapons and are killing animals and polluting the environment using very toxic (banned in the U.S.A.) pesticides that they are smuggling in from Mexico. I say it makes a lot more sense (and is much better for your brain and the environment) to grow your own supply in the comfort of your home until this country wakes up and begins to regulate pot like alcohol.

Since we're putting all kinds of things on ballots these days, can we do more to stop this stupid war on pot? I'm not a smoker -- never even tried it -- but I'm pretty irritated that my taxes were spent eliminating $11 billion worth of productive, victimless commerce.

yep. i would be willing to wager that CA economy is somewhat kept afloat by the sheer amount of $$ surrounding this crop. just personally think that the US Fed govt should re-think its stance on the subject of mary_J. Pot smokers are arrested once every 40 seconds in the US. 1 out of 8 drug prisoners are incarcerated for pot. We spend over $1 Billion a year trying to eradicate this plant.. while we have a fat-ass nation of beer guzzling, McDonald chewin dumbasses that continue to fill the coffers of Annheiser Busch -- soon to be the coffers of InBev. But I will still take Mary Louise Parker as my neighbor any day.
