Speaking about today's California Supreme Court agreeing to hear case on same-sex marriage, City Attorney Dennis Herrera had this to say:
No matter what your view of same-sex marriage, it is important to understand that the passage of Prop 8 has pushed California to the brink of a constitutional crisis.
And how.

The court has laid out a schedule. Word on the street is that oral arguments will happen in March 2008.
Should be historic...
How you can change the constitution with 50%+1 is beyond me!
And, isn't this a little late? Shouldn't they have reviewed this before it went on the ballot and people contributed money to it.
Would you believe March, 2009 instead? It's on!
I hope they can just declare prop 8 unconstitutional. The people who supported it will have wasted money on nothing.
