Top consultant breaks with Mayor Gavin Newsom

While many in the city concerned themselves with that civil rights protest at City Hall, Mayor Gavin Newsom was wringing his hands over the loss of his top consultant, Shawnda Westly, last week. According to SFBG, the news came about via a Facebook search. If you recall, Westly has been on the job for a paltry two months. Why did she leave? We can't say why just yet. But Steven T. Jones guesses that Westly might have been uncomfortable "with Newsom so often being at odds with local labor leaders" or fed up at dealing with "petulant hacks" such as press secretary Nathan Ballard. Ouch. Anyway, we're sure to find out exactly why real soon. Please standby. (SFBG)

"Petulant hack" is Jones's words, not hers.

Though blindingly accurate.

Jones should know exactly what a petulant hack is.
