Well, I'm straight and married, and I wasn't taking the comment so literally. I don't believe my marriage is less real, but I acknowledge that it is easy for us heteros to take marriage for granted sometimes.

The comment about "more real" is inane and neither here nor there in regards to the issue. It's impossible to parallel the two situations, so don't bother and just concentrate on other strengths of the movement. Also, telling heteros that their marriage is "less real" by default really isn't going to win the cause any support. The green font is totally Mr. Yuck green, which goes along with "miserable."
