SFist reader and all-around awesome human being Chris Wiggum writes to us, letting us know:
Mission between 10 - 11 has been blocked off by police. The bomb squad apparently has been called in and several people were rushed off in an ambulance. Not sure what's going on, I just spied it from afar. Checked SFist to see if it had been reported - have you heard anything about what's going on?
So far our phone calls have been unanswered, unreturned. But while we figure out just what's going on, do you, dear readers, know? Let us know. Thanks.
Update: All is clear now. Just checking out a suspicious package. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.

CBS 5 contacted SF PD and the response was, "bomb squad was out checking on a suspicious package.... no problems.. scene has been cleared...."
Why were people rushed off in an ambulance, then?
Dunno. Maybe they were EMTs getting in/out of the back of the ambulance? It's interesting, a block gets closed off, there's the possibility of a bomb, but no reporting of the event on the SF Gate or anywhere else as far as I can see. I feel like whenever I see something of this nature, it's like - poof - it didn't really happy or the details are never available. Then, other times, suspicion of a bomb makes major headlines. What makes it one way or the other, I wonder?
