Is it out of your system yet? While all of this in-fighting, blaming, exempting, and naive attacks of reverse-discrimination (a chortle-inducing term if there ever was one) has been fun, let's get down to brass tacks, folks. SFist is putting out a call for and sites and/or organizations doing any of the following constructive things to help overturn gender and queer discrimination in the state of California.
- Reaching out to latino, black, and religious communities
- Providing legal support -- to block prop 8, or to protect gay couples, or to promote other equality-themed legislation
- Organizing lists of volunteers/voters who are passionate about the cause
- Providing volunteers/voters with training/instruction for doing outreach of their own
- Conducting research/focus groups to find out exactly what our opportunities/obstacles are, and where our efforts are having the greatest impact
In all seriousness here, if you can give us some useful places and resources -- and not your bile, at least not in this particular post -- we would be most grateful. Please. Thanks.

I just wanted to remind everyone that the NAACP and the Anti Defamation League were very active in the no on 8 campaign and in the legal challenges that are going on now. They deserve thanks and support!
I would also add one or two long term goals here Brock:
urging the legislature to require 2/3 majority vote for intiatives that change the state contitution
amd
banning out of state funding for statewide initiatives.
Rex Wockner has a post about the groundswell of grassroots support against Prop 8 and its effects at http://wockner.blogspot.com/2008/11/stonewall-20-gay-activism-40.html
This is also a good read, although I'd argue that religion was an even bigger factor in Prop 8 than age. Unfortunately, the CNN poll doesn't have much data on religion correlated with race, but I would guess that non-Christians make up a greater proportion of the white population than the black population.
Donate to the local ACLU and Kate Kendall's group (can't remember name offhand and too busy to look it up) - aren't they the ones putting resources into fighting the implementation of Prop 8 (along with our hero City Attorney Dennis Herrera)?
I wonder if any work is underway to put a proposition on the 2010 ballot to reverse Prop 8. Seems like that would be a good avenue to explore.
Does it have to wait till 2010? Isn't there any way to get something sooner than that? I'm sure just about any number of signatures could be aquired pretty damn easily.
Cheers,
Greg
And we need to provide a clear illustration of the differences between marriage and domestic partnerships. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.
This site is helpful for filing complaints with the IRS regarding the LDS Church's tax exempt status:

So, does the NAACP offer any insight that would quell the insanity?
I think Rex Wockner hits the nail on the head with this post:
http://wockner.blogspot.com/2008/11/stonewall-20-gay-activism-40.html
Excerpt: "Maybe Stonewall was Activism 1.0, ACT UP was Activism 2.0, the failed corporate activism of HRC and No On Prop 8 was Activism 3.0, and now we are witnessing Activism 4.0 being born"
He's spot-on as far as I'm concerned. From here on in we look to eachother, not some pie-in-the-sky non-profit. This movement is going to be fought and won by us, grassroots-style.
Sorry, davitydave....just slowed down enough to realize you already posted that link.

that's an interesting article.
@oskarv
thanks for the post, i honestly stay away from reading the socialist worker.I really enjoyed this article though. The closest i get is reading the Bayview.I wonder if palin reads these too.
@LisaLives: No problem. Great minds think alike.
Put it on the ballot in 2010 and then if still passes. Then shut up about it!
@DJBurrito
I am sure when she said all of them she meant ALL OF THEM!!!
Do they still publish Blue Boy?
@pants
You need a pony not a panda
(and, yes I will keep on naging until you change your icon!!)
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Action Fund has a similar call out for folks to direct their Anger into Action -- you can pledge not to fight hate with hate and do something constructive instead here:
http://thetaskforce.kintera.org/anger2action
There's also a Facebook group:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=32837409263
The Task Force Action Fund isn't endorsing one specific action at this stage, but they have a similar project underway to compile different folks' constructive, proactive actions. There is no action too small, and every action -- symbolic or more tangible -- makes a difference. I encourage you to visit the Anger into Action Declaration and post your positive actions there as well.
Peace,
Ellen
@DJBurrito: Palin used to read the Bayview, but since it went web-only, she can't get to it anymore since Alaska doesn't have a full set of tubes. (That's why Ted Stevens was so mad in that video. It's a shame the liberal media cut out that part.)
