SHAVING PARTY: Mustaches For Kids, a charity organization/mustache-growing competition, kicks things off with Shaving Day. More or less, it's a facial hair marathon. Growers sprout mustaches for four weeks during this holiday season, subject themselves to public humiliation, and raise money for children's charities. And tonight? You guys are at the bare stating line.

8 p.m. // Casanova Lounge (527 Valencia) // free

ART: Come see art produced students and alumni at the local real estate scam art school while enjoying music, free sushi, and super cheap drink specials. What's more, Academy Night happens downtown at a semi-fancy restaurant/nightclub -- perfect for those of you just getting off of work.

5 p.m. - 10 p.m. // Roe Restaurant and Lounge (651 Howard) // free

MUSIC: Modern folk singer-songwriter Vic Chesnutt hits the floorboards in Potrero Hill this evening. Delightfully-titled psychedelic outfit Elf Power opens.

9:30 p.m. // Bottom of the Hill (1233 - 17th Street) // $12

Wait, does that mean they're giving free shaves? My Election Beard is pretty robust and my shaving standards are pretty high.
