In honor of Veterans Day, which is today, USF is holding a blood drive. Billed "We Do For the Troops," the blood-sucking festivities will be hosted by the USF ROTC program. That means that the Blood Centers for the Pacific will bring its big ol' blood bus in front of USF's main campus at Cowell Hall from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, with a big ol' needle with your name on it. But wait, that's not all! While you're helping someone out by donating voluminous amounts of your red, sticky, viscous bodily fluid, blood donors will also get "a mini-physical that tells their cholesterol level, blood pressure, blood type, iron level and temperature." (SFGate)

Sigh. Another thing I can't do because I'm gay.
@ perlerorneg - i never understood that caviat in the guidelines for giving blood. all genders, sexualities and entities will need blood at some point in their life!
@perlerorneg: yeah, i hate that bullshit. i can't believe they haven't corrected that by now. i don't have any diseases.
Can us gays at least get the mini-physical even if we cannot legally donate blood?
