Win Tix to Loquat's CD Release Party on Saturday

San Francisco favs Loquat will be celebrating the release of their new album Secrets of the Sea from Talking House Records on Saturday night at Bottom of the Hill. The show will mark the end of their national tour, which looked like a lot of fun. Take a look at a few of bassist Anthony Gordon's photos from the trip, and check out his interview with SFist from last year. Also check out Loquat's pretty, new video.

We're also giving away a pair of tickets and a copy of the CD to one lucky winner. This time we're going to make you work a little for it. Write a haiku using the word "loquat" in the comments by 11 a.m. tomorrow morning, and the winner (chosen by Brock) will be announced and notified by Noon.

UPDATE: The Haiku winner is grngolet -- great job!

My Loquat Haiku

I know Loquat well
Anthony drinks like a fish
Kylee sings real nice

Loquats in the yard
Fallen from the top branch
Feed my roses all winter

Orange swingset chain
Loquat penny drop on time
Yes, you're ours to keep!

small Loquat tree, with
a rounded crown, a short trunk
and woolly new twigs

loquat tree very
pretty. loquat flower sweet
but impossible

As Winter awaits Barack
Frisco starts to rock
And the sea whispers Loquat

Still-frozen garden
Yields ripe fruit. Hard ground, loquat
thrusts upward, alive.

Early morn, mist swirls
Sleepless, I ponder: Loquat
Does it rhyme with cat?
