PERFORMANCE: Gender bending tap dancers, maverick performance artists, and kink-chasing rock n’ roll adventurers all come together in this one-night-only, Trannyfest Live. Kicking off tomorrow's Tranny Film Festival, tonight's performance event gives it up for transgendered folk of all ilk, featuring such local acts as Twincest, Storm Florez, Butch Tap, Carrie Baum, and the phenomenal Shawna Virago. (What, no Bambi Lake?)
8 p.m. // Mama Calizo's Voice Factory (151 Mission Street) // $8
THEATER: Come check out the stage version of The House of Yes, a dark comedy about a dysfunctional family consumed by mental health issues and an obsession with the Kennedy assassination. Oh, and some incest thrown in for good measure.
8 p.m. // SF Playhouse, Stage 2 (533 Sutter) // $20
ART: Some sort of magical Gallery Crawl is happening tonight, starting at 49 Geary, and free booze will be involved. At least according to MyOpenBar. Sounds like it will be a lot of arty fun. Sadly, we cannot find a site saying what, exactly, is going on. (Maybe that is part of the art. Whoa. Heavy.) If you know, let us know.
5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. // 49 Geary

It's the first Thursday of the month, when art galleries around union square are open in the evening. 49 Geary has a large concentration of them. There is usually really cheap wine and a cracker or two to be had for free.
Since Queen is my favorite musical group of all time, I must share with everyone that a film (okay, so it isn't nearly as cool as a live performance) of a show QUeen + Paul Rodgers (of Bad Company/The Firm .. and now Queen fame) did in some far off land a couple of months ago will be shown one-time only tonight at 7:30pm at the Century 9 theatre at San Francisco's Westfield mall. http://www.fandango.com/queen+paulrodgers:letthecosmosrock_119803/movieoverview?date=
