Irish Coffee lovers, listen up. The love-it-or-hate-it sweet treat is about to get bigger. For the record, we loathe the hot blend of coffee, whiskey, sugar and cream. We demand our hooch served to us ice cold.) The Buena Vista Cafe will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest Irish coffee next week. (Seriously, we love shit like this. Chez Panisse should produce world's largest sprig of thyme, or Tu Lan could capture the world's largest cockroach. Or something like that.)
Bar manager Michael Carden says he's having a glass blower specially produce a 15-gallon Irish coffee glass modeled on those used at the bar. The record-breaking happens net Monday at 1 p.m., located at 2765 Hyde Street. See you there. Hic! (ABC 7)

I predict this will taste about as good as the thing my hometown is "famous" for: world's largest pecan pie. BLECH.
HATE pecan pie. barf.
clearly you hate all that is good & right with the universe.
seconded Generic. Pecan Pie=Amazing
Pecan pie is amazing. But not if that pecan pie is about thirty feet across and has been baked under the sun all day long.
no offense on the pie. i just don't like a lot of sweets. if i could shovel spoonfuls of salt into my mouth with heart-attack, i probably would.
I'll be there with a straw and a life jacket...
Tu Lan's cockroaches remind me: went to this place which had an 80 (out of 100) from the sanitation departments, with this comment on the inspection sheet: "Remove rodent droppings from the food storage area."
No word on removing the rodents.
Brock, I'm betting you're a chex mix kinda guy.
Should i bring giants straws or will they have them there?
I will require 3 of these.
Why not 30 gallons?
Chex Mix rocks!
