Where to Watch the Returns

Here are just a few election night parties going on, each of them screening the results live. And more. Much more. We'll update this list throughout the day. Check back for more if you don't find something to your liking. (And we recommend you going out tonight. It should be.... interesting.)

Jones Bar (Lombard & Scott): Hosted by San Francisco Republican Party, the San Francisco Young Republicans, and the San Francisco Schadenfreude Society. (5 p.m., free)

330 Ritch (Ritch & Bryant): Screening the results, DJs, 18_&-over tail -- what more do you need? Oh, booze. They'll have that in spades too. (7 p.m., free)

Pirate Cat Cafe and Studio (2781 - 21st Street): free beer and wine while "watching the news on 14 different screens projected around the cafe." (free,$1)

Doc's Clock (2575 Mission): Showing all the action on their projection screen at the back. (6 p.m., free)

The Yerba Buena Center (301 Mission): non-partisan election night party, featuring with free pizza after 8 p.m., cash bar, "big walls to scribble and draw on," DJs and dance performances, and big-screen TVs tuned in to PBS, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, and, yes, Fox. (6 p.m., free)

Yoshi's (1330 Fillmore): Political commentator Bill Press, Green 960 Radio's Angie Coiro and Sebastian Kunzwill wil be there. You will be in cocktail attire. OK? OK. (5 p.m; $5, $25 [VIP])

Edinburgh Castle (950 Geary): Full coverage on the big screen. Will be a most festive night here. Highly recommended. Oh, and there will be an live open-mike all night for those of you who need to rant. Or, perform a torch song medley from Follies. Whichever. (6 p.m., free)

The Riptide (3639 Tarval): Where those of you in the Outer Richmond, Sunset can gather. (6 p.m., free)

Kilowatt (3160 16th Street): Party thrown by the Guardian staff. They will all be drunk. Not to be missed. (7 p.m., free)

Mezzanine: (414 Jesse): San Francisco Obama campaign is having its official Counting-the-Chickens-As-They-Hatch party here. (free, but RSVP here)

Underground SF (424 Haight): DJs pumping out dubstep, jungle, dancehall, and more. Lower Haight Street election night fun. $1 wells until 11 p.m. (6 p.m., free)

El Rio\ (3158 Mission): Hosted by the League of Pissed Off Voters, it's like this: "8:01 pm until McCain drops, then we party in the streets! Come celebrate the end of the election and watch the results with us on the big screen. Bring your ballot stub and get a free drink! There will be TVs in the front room, election results projected on the wall in the back yard, and live music and DJs in the back room." (8:01 p.m., free)

Cantina (580 Sutter): This place is awesome. And their basement holds many secret. Come watch the results near Union Square. 96 p.m., free)

Harlot (46 Minna): Doors open at 5 p..m., happy hour drink specials, fancy decor. (free)
