I like how they are acknowledging that there will probably be big crowds of people out and about but at the same time refusing to do anything to make the transit situation better during that time.

I popped into Chez Panisse the other night for a quick dinner of rocket and goat and noticed these signs all over Berkeley. However, I don't get it. All the bars and restaurants will be open, but we're not allowed to go into them? Will only the denizens of the Castro be permitted entrance? Did they hand out special ghetto ID cards at Cliff's? Why does the Castro hate democracy?

Let me get this right... so once again, the Castro businesses will be closed again? That's really f-ed up, it's one of their biggest moneymakers of the year, and with the economy going down the hole, businesses should open. Remember last year? A couple of bars were opened and went against the advice of Newsom and Dufty, and those had a huge line out the door.
