Found tacked to the door of the cannabis club at 194 Church Street, which opened in 1994. It reads:
Dear Cannabis Community:
Due to the city of San Francisco imposing of overly strict regulations regarding the installation of wheelchairs. we are unable to unable to continue operation of this medical cannabis club. We have served the medical cannabis community for almost 15 years at this location. We do have another location at: 122 Tenth Street @ Mission
Thanks
Management of compassion and care center #2
It's now closed.

hasn't it been closed for months? I thought SFist already covered this. I think it turned into a smoking den when they weren't operating as a dispensary anymore.
Overly strict? That's not even a San Francisco regulation, that's a federal regulation. Of COURSE they should have an elevator. Especially any place that claims to serve a disabled population DEFINITELY should have an elevator for people in wheelchairs. It's amazing they didn't get shut down sooner for this blatant ADA violation.
If you're going to rail against the ADA, rail against the ADA, not a local government that has no say in the matter.
Boo fucking hoo. They have to abide by the same laws as everyone else. Sucks for them.
says a lot that they don't even know it's a FEDERAL law. It's called a book, kids. Read it and deal.
now if the lawyers can enforce federal ADA on the whorehouses, watch out.
About 10 years ago the staff at the club were picketing. They had signs about management being unfair. They were walking around the door of the Transfer. I am not sure of they were on strike or acting out...
I wonder how things would have been different if they had organized like the Lusty Lady.
Aw man, I depended on the smell of weed wafting down to counteract the smell of herpes flowing out of the Transfer.
Ah fuck! now the "patients" can only choose between 15 clubs within a 6 block radius rather than 16. It's about access to care...man
People still go to clubs? I thought it was all about the co-op delivery service now.
Ah shit, they got so high they forgot to put in wheelchair ramps.
San Francisco I Am has a great video on whether illegal cannabis clubs are really hurting medical marijuana patients with California Attorney General's recent crackdown down on medical cannabis clubs.

San Francisco Iam also has a lot of other interesting video journalism bringing us stuff that the mainstream media isn’t.
Just read Harmon Leon’s new book, The American Dream: Walking in the Shoes of Carnies, Arms Dealers, Pot Farmers, and Christian Believers. He goes undercover and lives many people perception of the American Dream by walking in their shoes. The funniest chapter by far is when he goes undercover and works on a pot farm in Mendocino.
The biggest fear on a pot farm is not being busted by the DEA but robbery.
Harmon concluded you could probably rob the pot farm he was on with a pen knife and affected raspy voice. I highly recommend the book.
