Photos: The Really Really Free Market Honors Kirsten Brydum

This past weekend, the first Really Really Free Market since the murder of its founder, Kirsten Brydum, opened for business in Dolores Park. If you recall, the 25-year-old activist was shot and killed while riding her bike in New Orleans earlier this month.

But on Saturday many came to honor Brydum's life and efforts of creating this free-ish market, which is an anti-capitalist "collective of individuals who form a temporary market based on an alternative gift economy."

Photog Helene Goupil was there to capture these colorful images. Read more about the fitting memorial, right here.

Wow. Glad to see that someone covered this. The audio of the dad is gut-wrenching.

it's the bean doing acro-stretching-hippy-dippy-something.

Those of us committed to continuing Kirsten's work want everyone to know the the RRFM will continue to happen on the last Saturday of every month just like it has since she started it.

After November the market will move to the ArtSF space at 110 Capp St @ 19th untill it gets warm again.

We'd also like to thank everyone who came out to the the park this weekend to celebrate Kirsten's life with us. It was immensely meaningful for her family and all of us who were close to her. Thank you!

If anyone wants to learn more about the RRFM or would like to get more involved they can visit www.reallreallyfree.org
