Muni's Guide to the Weekend: Noe Valley Snobs, Alleged "Erotic" Balls, Glide

sunlit-fall-leaf.jpg

During this our last warm weekend in SF (God willing), Muni will make sure nothing runs smoothly. Behold!

Temporary Bus Stop Relocation: Starting at 7 a.m. this Saturday and going until 4 p.m. Sunday, some sort of mysterious excavation work will require the relocation of the 12 Folsom-Pacific outbound at Harrison and 3rd streets. The stop will be relocated from the western side of 3rd Street to the eastern side of the street. Inbound routes, however, will not be affected.

Noe Valley Harvest Festival: Now Valley doesn't have street fairs, they have "harvest festivals," see? Because they're fancy. But much like a street fair, Saturday's Noe Valley Harvest Festival will result in the closure of 24th Street between Sanchez and Church from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday. Thus: the 48 Quintara-24th will be all kinds of messed up. Check with NextBus before taking a ride on it.

St. Dominic's Church March: On Saturday, parishioners of Saint Dominic's Church will march on the sidewalk from 3rd Street at Jamestown Avenue to Bush and Steiner streets. Why? Because God told them to. Probably. And God may cause disruptions to the following lines: 2 Clement, 9 San Bruno, 21 Hayes, 26 Valencia, 47 Van Ness, 3 Jackson, 9x San Bruno, 22 Fillmore, 31 Balboa, 49 Van Ness-Mission, 5 Fulton, 14 Mission, 23 Monterey, 38 Geary, 71 Haight-Noriega, 6 Parnassus, 14L Mission, 24 Divisadero, and 38L Geary.

Exotic Erotic Ball: On Saturday, starting at 6 p.m., the Marina Sluts Dressed As Sexy Kittens/Devils Ball will affect the 108 Treasure Island Muni route.

Glide Church Housing Dedication: On Sunday, Glide Church will honor the dedication of a housing project, which will result in the closure of Mason Street between Ellis and Eddy streets beginning at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

i hope the st dominic's march is not a catholic-inspired yes on 8 march...

http://www.stdominics.org/calendar/calendar_event.asp?event_id=993&date=10/25/2008

"Come and participate in this pilgrimage to honor and thank St. Jude Thaddeus for his constant intercession with God."

Tho I would not be surprised to see a yes on 8 sign in the crowd, it appears to be their pilgrimage walk. Oh I don't regret leaving the RCC for a scant second...

Actually, I'm catholic. And just about every catholic I know in SF is voting no on 8. We're not all right wing bigots who follow the pope. Same as not all Americans are right wing bigots who worship the likes of Bush, McCain, and Palin.

For the record, all the catholics I know are pro-choice, democrats, and quite liberal.

Oh, man. I'm going to Exotic Erotic just because I've never been and some friends invited me. Does it suck? Buzzkill...

Yeah gf, the EEB sucks a bunch. It may be that I'm jaded but there will be a handful of great costumes and the majority will be creepy guys with a camera in one hand and their dick in the other. Be sure to get out before 1 when the bars start closing and east bay thugs start showing up.

You were right about that, SFJoe! It did kind of suck. Yikes.
