i rent in one of the 38 buildings in SF not covered by rent control. so i'll stay home and be ornery, thank you very much.

I am supporting Lynn Jefferson for D3 supervisor, and she absolutely supports rent control. District 3 is home to over 80% renters, and she recognises the vitality that comes with having people of more limited means able to stay in San Francisco due to rent control.

How is rent control in danger? Even if the Board of Supes were to somehow revoke the current City Ordinance, couldn't the Mayor simply veto such a move? As I recall, Newsom was against Prop. 98 (which would have eliminated rent control statewide). Or am I missing something?

Have any of these "landlord and Democratic backed candidates" said they were against rent control? I've never associated Democrats with free markets. This seems a bit of a stretch.
