Gastronomic Woes Hit Google HQ

While Yahoo cleanses its staff of over 1,500 employees, Google is also seeing hard times befall the internet mammoth. One of Google's 18 in-house eateries, Off The Grid, which serves up environmentally conscience dishes featuring ingredients from local and organic suppliers, is shutting its doors due to budget cuts. What does this mean? It means Google employees are that much closer to microwaving a pair of Hot Pockets for lunch. But it also means, according to Owen Thomas, that "despite CEO Eric Schmidt's protestations, Google is being hit by the recession." Stay strong, Googlers! (Valleywag)
